Kirkland Garners National Recognition Amidst Historic Season

Kansas City, Mo.Lee Kirkland has been named NAIA Offensive Player of the Week following his stunning performance against (RV) Cumberland University over the weekend.

Adding to his already impressive resume, Kirkland becomes the first player since Jonathan Morton a season ago to earn national player of the week recognition.

This is the first UPIKE player to earn an NAIA Offensive Player of the Week nod since Trevor Hoskins in 2011. Further, Kirkland continues to approach Hoskins dominating presence in the record books, with last week's performance coming just 28 yards short of the record set by Hoskins in 2010.

Kirkland is currently leading the NAIA in passing yards per game with 484.5, which is 119.2 yards more than Morningside's Dolincheck who stands in second. Kirkland holds down top ten spots in the country in the following categories:
