Pikeville, Ky. – Carly Crooks claimed her first career tournament victory Tuesday afternoon, as UPIKE women's golf wrapped up the East Tennessee Invitational tied for third of 14 teams.

UPIKE finished with a two-day score of 630 (+46) to tie (22) Northwestern Ohio for third in the elite match. Milligan University claimed team champion with a 609 (+19) while SCAD-Atlanta finished runner-up with a 610 (+26). The event was loaded with some of the best talent in the NAIA, with three teams ranked in the top 15 nationwide and several others among the top 50.

After heading into round two tied for seventh, Carly Crooks shot a 72 (-1) to finish with a 36-hole score of 147. The Canadian tied SCAD-Atlanta's Megan Ahmadi for the top overall spot. Crooks opened her day with a birdie on a par four, carding five more birdies in the round putting her in prime position to claim the win. On the final two holes, Crooks clubbed a pair of bogeys to tie for the top spot.

Just outside the top five at sixth was Renee Crooks, carding a 36-hole score of 150 to finish four over on the tournament. Crooks shot scores of 74 (+1) and 76 (+3), tallying five birdies in the contest, finishing just one stroke behind the tie for fourth.

Sophia Beverly made an impressive 11 position climb on the leaderboard with her day two performance. Beverly clubbed a 83 (+10) on day one before cutting that by five on Tuesday with a 78 (+5). Beverly finished tied for 27^th with a 161.

Lauren Holmes tied for 43^rd in the event, shooting scores of 83 (+10) and 89 (+19). Individual Taylor Messer climbed three spots on the second day, finishing tied for 56^th with a 181.

UPIKE Women's golf goes back to work on Monday, October 3^rd at the Music City Invitational. The two-day event is hosted at Twelve Stones Golf Club in Goodlettsville, Tenn. and hosted by Cumberland University.
