Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

RV Tennessee Wesleyan blanks Bears

ATHENS, Tenn. – Tennessee Wesleyan University maintained its spot atop the AAC men's soccer standings with a 6-0 win over the University of Pikeville on Tuesday afternoon.
 
The Bulldogs are 8-2-3 on the season and 8-0-1 in the league. UPike fell to 5-6-2 overall, 2-4-2 in the conference.
 
TWU got on the scoreboard in the 11th minute, scoring when junior Bada Sady found the net unassisted. Junior Cian Gantley repeated the feat in the 22nd minute to make it 2-0.
 
Before the half, senior Luis Baldivieso connected off a pass from sophomore Charlie Wood in the 43rd minute to send the teams to the break at 3-0.
 
In the 60th minute, freshman Grant Barron scored off a dish from Gantley to make it 4-0.
 
The Bulldogs scored the final two goals within two minutes of each other. Senior Julien Withrow scored on a pass from junior Dave Neijenhuis, who then closed out scoring with an unassisted effort.
 
UPike had one shot in the game, taken by sophomore midfielder Fabian Villavicencio.
 
Keeper Adam DiMillo turned away nine shots in goal for the Bears.
 
UPike will return to the pitch at Bob Amos Complex on Saturday at 1 p.m. when it hosts Union College. The match is part of the day's homecoming festivities on campus.
