RIO GRANDE, Ohio – The University of Pikeville cross country teams competed in the Patty Forgey Invitational on Friday morning, hosted by the University of Rio Grande.

The women finished second in the team category while the men came in third.
Â
Rio Grande was the winner on both sides of the meet.

On the women's side, sophomore
Kylee Hamilton led UPike runners by completing the 5K in 26:13.08. Sophomore
Madelyn Sohns followed at 26:45.99.

Senior
Ivey Hart wrapped up the event in 28:38.60. Freshman
Olivia Ross followed at 28:42.07. Sophomore
Alexa Muha recorded a time of 30:24.98 while freshman Ali Cantrell finished in 32:57.29.

For the men, UPike was led by sophomore
Niles McCoy, who completed the 8K course in 32:58.97. He was followed by sophomore
Lucas Ison with a time of 35:06.38.

Colin Howell clocked in with a time of 36:15.30, sophomore
Haden Harper at 39:47.21, junior
Syrus Ramsey in 40:32.58 and sophomore
Zachary Neace in 46:30.89.

The next event on the cross country schedule in the 2023 AAC championships, which will be run at Sequoyah Park in Knoxville, Tenn., on Saturday, Nov. 3.
