Men's Soccer Shut Out By CIU

PIKEVILLE, Ky.- In a hard-fought battle on Wednesday evening at The Bob Amos Complex, Columbia International University defeated the University of Pikeville with a score of 3-0.

Columbia International improved to 7-1-3 on the season and 5-1-2 in the AAC. UPike fell to 4-5-2 on the season and 1-3-2 in the conference.

The Rams scored early in the game during the first half as Bryan Molina put the Rams on the board at 32:20. Molina's goal was the only point for the Rams in the first half. The Rams had 6 first half shots on goal compared to the Bears zero.

In the 51st minute, the Rams tacked on another goal scored by Romulo Barreto, while his teammate Benedict Kartheuser added another point on the board at the 64:10 marker.

UPike managed only one shot on goal during the match. Graduate Student Coby Fields had the only shot on goal for the Bears. The Rams had a total of 12 shots on goal.

The Bears will be back in action October 7th on Saturday at Kentucky Christian University in Grayson Ky., starting at 4:30 p.m.

Columbia International University will host Tennessee Wesleyan University on Saturday, October 7th starting at 3:30 p.m.
