GRAYSON, Ky. – The University of Pikeville men's soccer team scored three goals to knock off Kentucky Christian University 3-1 on Saturday afternoon.
UPike moved to 5-5-2 in the regular season and 2-3-2 in conference play. KCU moves to 2-10-1 for the regular season and 0-9 in conference play.
The Bears started out hot with a goal by
Alex Ward at the 9:54 marker in the first half. This would be the only for either team in the first half of play. Coming out of the half the Bears struck again with another goal at the 49:10 marker by
Anthony Aguilar. He was assisted by
Daron Baumann.
KCU made it a one-point ball game after Gage Bowling scored the Knights first goal of the game at the 67:56 marker. The Bears bounced back with another goal by Baumann at the 68:21 marker.
Adam Di Millo had seven saves for the Bears while KCU had eight shots on goal. The Knights had two saves with the Bears five shots on goal.
The University of Pikeville will travel to Athens, Tenn., to face Tennessee Wesleyan University on Tuesday October 10th. Start of the game will begin at 1 p.m.
Kentucky Christian University will host Boyce College Tuesday October 10th. The game will begin at 6 p.m.
