WALESKA, Ga. – The University of Pikeville struggled shooting the basketball on Saturday afternoon, which resulted in a 76-62 loss to Reinhardt University.

UPike (2-2, 2-2 in the Appalachian Athletics Conference) failed to hit 30 percent of its shots in the first three quarters. Meanwhile, the homestanding Eagles had no such problem, nailing 50.8 percent of its shots from the floor.

The Bears also struggled from the arc, making only 4-of-22 from outside for 18.2 percent.

It wasn't until the final quarter when the Bears reached 40 percent from the floor, hitting 7-of-17 in the final 10 minutes to raise their percentage for the game to 30.5 percent.

Three Bears reached double digits in the scoring column, led by
Morgan Stamper. The senior had 11 and 14 rebounds, eight of which were off the offensive glass. Thanks to her efforts, UPike won the rebounding battle 36-27.

Stamper also hit 7-of-7 from the free throw line.

Bailey Frazier and sophomore
Katie Collopy also finished with 11 points.

Allie Stone, who finished with nine points, handed out six assists.

Reinhardt's Julia Craft, a senior, led all scorers with 18 points. Graduate student Ashley Roodroffe followed with 14, while grad student Ty Williams came off the bench to toss in 12.

Senior Avanna Preston had eight rebounds to pace the Eagles while handing out six assists.

The Bears will return to action on Tuesday night, hosting Truitt McConnell University at the Appalachian Wireless Arena. Tipoff is slated for 5:30 p.m.
