McKenzie, Tenn, - Men's tennis took on Bethel University and Freed-Hardeman this afternoon and won both matches.

Match 1: UPIKE 4, Bethel 0
Juan Diego Alzate and Mirko Dedich got the doubles matches started with a 6-3 win. Valentin Ortiz and Paulo Castillo won 6-3 in their match as well to win the doubles point. Martin Lorenzo and Alfonso Robinson capped off the doubles sweep with a 7-6 win.
The Bears followed their dominance in the doubles with sweeping the singles matches. Valentin Ortiz and Juan Alzate both won their matches 6-2 and 6-1. The match was won for UPIKE when Mirko Dedich 6-3 and 6-0.Â

Match 2: UPIKE 7, Freed-Hardeman 0
In the doubles matches, Juan Diego Alzate and Mirko Dedich cruised to a 6-0 win in the first match. Martin Lorenzo and Alfonso Robinson secured the doubles point with a 6-4 win. The Bears swept the doubles matches after a 6-4 win.Â
The Bears brought out the brooms in the singles matches, beginning with 6-1, 7-5 win by Valentin Ortiz. Juan Diego Alzate, Mirko Dedich, Alfonso Robinson and Paulo Castillo won by way of 2-0 sweep. Martin Lorenzo finished off the 7-0 performance with a come-from-behind 3-6, 7-5, 10-8 win.Â

UPIKE is now 5-3 (2-1 MSC) following today's two wins. Next up for the Bears is a match with the Union College Bulldogs.Â
