Pikeville, Ky. - The UPIKE men's tennis squad defeated the Bluefield Rams 7-0 Wednesday afternoon at Bob Amos.

Doubles:Â
Juan Diego Alzate and Mirko Dedich got the doubles matches started for the Bears with a 6-2 win over their Bluefield counterparts. Valentin Ortiz and Paulo Castillo secured the doubles point for UPIKE with a 6-3 victory. After securing the point, Martin Lorenzo and Alfonso Robinson capped off the doubles with a dominant, 6-1 win.

All six UPIKE representatives won their singles matches. Valentin Ortiz, Juan Diego Alzate, Mirko Dedich, Alfonso Robinson and Martin Lorenzo all swept their matches. Lorenzo's scores were the most dominant, winning 6-1 and 6-0.Â

UPIKE's record is now 3-2 (0-0 MSC). The Bears will open Mid-South Conference play Thursday with a matchup with #22 Campbellsville University.Â
