PIKEVILLE, Ky. – Reinhardt (Ga.) University built an eight-point first-half lead and held on down the stretch to knock off the University of Pikeville 71-66 on Wednesday night.

The win came for the Eagles, last season's regular season champions, over the Bears, who won last year's tournament.

Reinhardt hit 51.4 percent of its first-half shots to build a 41-33 lead. That allowed it to survive hitting only 27.3 percent after the break.

UPike (3-2, 2-1 in the AAC) shot only 34.9 percent for the game as a three-game win streak came to an end.

Junior
Allie Stone had 28 points in the win, nailing 10-of-11 from the free throw line. She also had four assists, three rebounds and two blocked shots in the game.

Freshman
Jaaliyah Warren came off the bench to join her in double digits with 12 points, going 4-for-7 from the arc. She added five rebounds.

They were the only players in double figures in the scoring column, although junior
Katie Collopy had nine points and seven rebounds. Despite scoring only four points, junior
Rachel Bush pulled down 14 rebounds in the game.

Graduate student Julia Craft led three Eagles in double figures with 19 points. She also grabbed five rebounds in the win.

Graduate student Noel Lavery had 13 points and nine rebounds for the Eagles. Sophomore Laphina Campbell came off the bench for 10 points.

The Bears will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Laurinburg, N.C., to play St. Andrews. The game is scheduled for a noon tip.
