LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Pikeville men's bowling team wrapped up play for the fall semester with a first- and second-place finish last weekend in the NAIA Invitational.

In Friday's tournament, the Bears finished second in the 18-team varsity field behind only SCAD-Savannah. UPike's 5,552 was a mere eight pins behind SCAD's total.

Huntington (5,196), Saint Xavier (5,149) and Midway (5,140) rounded out the top five.

Bryce Oliver, a graduate student from Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, came in second in the field of 138 individuals. His total of 1,165 was only four pins from the top spot, taken by SCAD's Ethan Evans.

Eli Mayberry came in fourth with a total score of 1,152 and an average of 230.4. Senior
Chris LeSueur averaged 218 to finish 13
th. Freshman
Daniel Robertson followed, with a 213.4 to finish 17
th.

Wesley Yazell was 20
th, averaging 211.4. Freshman
Marquis Stover averaged 206.6, and sophomore
Andrew Allen followed at 197.2.

In Saturday's event, the Bears came out on top, totaling 5,201. SCAD-Savannah followed at 5,013. The remainder of the top five were William Penn (4,994), Saint Xavier (4,834) and Spring Arbor (4,731).

UPike will finish the fall term before returning to the lanes. That will happen in two events in Allentown, Penn. The Bears will compete in the Lehigh Valley Collegiate Classic Dec. 18-19 and the Roto Grip Classic on Dec. 20-21.
