KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Officials of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics have released their 2024 fall sport Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete honorees. Fall sports include football, men's cross country, men's soccer, women's cross country, women's soccer, and volleyball. UPIKE had 45 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes across the six fall sports.
To qualify for the Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete honor, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale, appear on the eligibility certificate for their sport, and must have attended their institution for at least one full year.
UPIKE football's 2024 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete honorees include Owein Blas, Paul Brown, Matthue Calderon, Andrew Castle, William Cvar, Tyler Freas, Montavious Hughes, Myson Livingston, Chase Mims, Chuck Moore, Jordan Ratliff, Dige Savage, Mason Sayers, Peyton Sayers, Grant Scott, Jordan Scott, Jacoby Thornsbury, and Amon Williams.
UPIKE women's soccer was well represented with 12 honorees. They are Kiera Bailey, Ruby D'Arcy, Dara Davis, Brianna Fortman, Shaleigh Little, Charlene Lofqvist, Bianca Ostlund, Julia Pinson, Kylie Ritter, Emily Stapleton, Ellie Webb, and Alyson Wright.
Men's soccer's 2024 honorees were Samuel Cristancho, Tomas Cristancho, Adam Di Millo, Iker Goyri, Cristobal Leyton, Alejandro Rodriguez, Alex Ward, and Charlie Williams.
Representing cross country on the men's side was Syrus Ramsey. Representing the women's soccer country team are Abigail Meyer, Alexa Muha, and Olivia Ross.
Lillian Carpenter, Emily Johnson, and Jordan Roberts were the honorees from Coach Mary Haynes' UPIKE volleyball team.
