ALLENTOWN, Penn. – The women's bowling program of the University of Pikeville continued its amazing season with two wins to wrap up the 2024 portion of the season.

They spent the week before Christmas winning the Lehigh Valley Collegiate Classic and the Roto Grip Keystone Quaker Classic.

The Bears have now won eight of the nine tournaments they've entered this school year. In the only tourney they didn't win – Day One of the NAIA Invitational – they finished second.

In the Lehigh Valley Collegiate Classic, the Bears came out on top in a field of 12 teams with a score of 9,156, well ahead of Lawrence Tech (Mich.), which was second with a score of 8,637, and Cumberland (Tenn.), which was third at 8,523.

UPike put three players on the all-tournament team, including the top two finishers.

Freshman
Katarina Hagler and graduate student
Kristina Catoe tied as the overall winners of the tournament, averaging 218.2. Hagler, a native of Cape Coral, Fla., peaked in game five with a 254, while Catoe, from Mooresville, N.C., rolled five games between 213 and 225.

Kelsey Cummings was fifth in the field, averaging 208.6.

The Bears then moved on to the Roto Grip Classic, where they posted a score of 8,575 to outdistance the field of 11 schools.

Trine (Ind.) was second with a score of 8,233, while Cumberland (Tenn.) placed third at 8,216.

Catoe took individual honors in this tournament, posting a five-game average of 209.8. She edged teammate
Brianna Rogers, who was second at 206.2.

They were the only players in the tournament to average above 200.

Cummings posted another Top 5 finish, finishing tied for third with an average of 198.6. Hagler was 23
rd despite bowling only four of the five games with a total pinfall of 811.

UPike will return to action in two Mid-South Conference tournaments in late January. They'll be in the Lynne Jordan Memorial January 25, and the Thomas N. Burris Memorial on January 26.

Both events are held in Louisville.
