PIKEVILLE, Ky. – Four players reached double figures on Saturday afternoon as the University of Pikeville held off Columbia College 88-76.

UPike (16-7, 12-5 in the AAC) got 26 points, six rebounds and six assists from sophomore
Allie Stone, while graduate student
Bailey Frazier hit five times in six tries from the arc to finish with 15 points.

Senior
Morgan Stamper finished with 13 points, 17 rebounds and a team-best six assists. It was the 12
th time this season Stamper has recorded a double-double. Sophomore
India Blyth finished with 11 points in the win.

Columbia (9-13, 6-11) used a 10-2 run in the first quarter to gain control of the game. It began with a three-pointer by freshman Lauren Wearbon and ended with a three-point play by freshman Tysonia Lowe to make the lead 19-12 with 1:34 left.

The Bears trailed 24-18 when it hit three three-point baskets to take the lead. Blyth and Frazier went back-to-back to tie the score. After the Koalas got a layup from Lowe, senior
Julia Parker nailed a three with 5:53 remaining in the half to put the Bears on top 27-26.

UPike had a 10-3 stretch later in the period to pull ahead. Freshman
Rachel Bush and Stone had four each, and when Stone nailed two free throws with 1:40 left in the half, the Bears led 37-32.

The halftime lead was 39-34.

Entering the fourth quarter tied at 56, UPike scored the first nine of the final frame. It began with a layup by senior
Morgan Stamper, followed by a three and a layup by Stone. When sophomore
Katie Collopy scored inside with 7:49 to play, the Bears led 65-56.

Lowe led the Koalas with 24 points, while also pulling down five rebounds and handing out four assists. Freshman Anaya Muhammad followed with 17 points and five rebounds, while Wearbon followed with 11 points and a game-best seven assists.

UPike will be back in action on Saturday afternoon, facing Bluefield (Va.) College at 2 p.m. in the University of Pikeville Gym.
