MONTREAT, N.C. – Montreat (N.C.) College posted the only goal of the first half and then added four more in the second to pick up a 5-1 win over the University of Pikeville on Saturday afternoon.

The Cavs improved to 3-4-1 on the season and 2-1-1 against AAC competition. Meanwhile the Bears slipped to 1-7 overall, 0-3 in the conference.

Montreat scored late in the first half, when Miodrag Bankovic landed the first of his two goals in the 41
st minute. The unassisted tally stood for a 1-0 lead at the break.

In the second half, the Cavs got two goals from Alejandro Hernandez to make it 3-0. The first came off a pass from Bankovic, while the second came from Predrag Grbovic.

Bankovic then scored his second unassisted goal of the game before Ethan Grasso scored, giving Grbovic his second assist of the game.

th minute, the Bears spoiled the shutout when
Jay Jackson scored on a pass from
Finn Wijnen.

UPike had six shots on goal. To go along with Jackson's score,
Bruno Back and
Bruno Arenal had two each, while
Daron Baumann had one.

Joao Miclos spent the day in net, recording nine saves for the Bears.
