LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Pikeville women's bowling teams picked up a pair of Top 5 finishes over the weekend and wrapped up Mid-South Conference play.

UPike finished fourth out of 17 teams in the Lynne Jordan Memorial on Saturday and was fifth of 17 in Sunday's Brandon Burris Memorial.

The tournaments were also the end of the regular season in the league, and the Bears finished 25-3, one game behind regular-season champion Cumberland (Tenn.) University, which finished 26-2.

Lindenwood (Mo.) University won both tournaments over the weekend. It finished the Jordan tournament at 5,925, with Cumberland coming in second with a score of 5,861. UPike's total of 5,658 was good for fourth place.

UPike's junior varsity teams finished first and third in Saturday's event.

Freshman
Allison Taylor was the individual champion, scoring 945 for an average of 236.25. Sophomore Madison Strause was third, averaging 224.25. Sophomore
Haley Grabowski followed with an average of 212.5 for a Top 10 finish.

Junior
Brianna Rogers was next, averaging 211 to finish 12
th. Graduate students
Kadie Dicken and
Vanessa Fuzie finished tied for 14
th with an average of 210.25. Graduate student
Kristina Catoe averaged 207.75 to finish 18
th.

Senior
Mikayla Blair earned a Top 20 finish with an average of 206.25, followed by freshman
Kaytlen Peck with an average of 204.75 and senior
Erica Warne, who averaged 203.5.

On Sunday, Lindenwood's score of 6,099 kept it atop the standings. Milligan (Tenn.) University followed with a total of 5,829. UPike's 5,547 placed it fifth.

Rogers' total of 939 and average of 234.75 was good for third among individual bowlers. Grabowski averaged 222.25 to place seventh in the field.

Blair finished 12
th on Sunday, averaging 218.25. Strause followed, averaging 215.75 to place 15
th. Peck was 21
st thanks to an average of 207.25, while Dicken finished 24
th at 204.25 and Catoe 26
th, averaging 201.5.

UPike will return to the lanes this weekend, traveling to Lawrenceville, Ga., to compete in the NAIA Southeast Open.
