KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - University of Pikeville men's and women's cross-country teams ran at the 2025 Appalachian Challenge hosted by Tennessee Wesleyan University Friday.

Joshua Martinez highlighted the men's team results by breaking a school record in the men's 8000 with a time of 26:35.21. Bruce Coleman had UPike's second-best time, running a 31:38.62 and Carter Hamilton ran a 36:19.29.

On the women's side, Morgan Tuttle ran the best time, posting a 23:36.59. Michelle Kemboi finished 50 seconds behind Tuttle, and Ali Cantrell rounded out the results on the women's side with a time of 31:14.55.

"It was great weather for distance racing. We raced very well, seeing a lot of AAC teams at the meet. Our times show we are still improving getting ready for Conference in two weeks," said Coach David Espinoza after the race.

Cross country will wrap up their 2025 season in Knoxville, Tenn., for the AAC Cross Country Championships on Friday, November 7th.
