MONTREAT, N.C. – The University of Pikeville put four players in double figures as it extended its winning streak to four in a 99-53 win over Montreat College on Saturday afternoon.

UPike is now 4-1 on the season, 4-0 in the AAC.

The Bears outscored the Cavaliers in all four quarters. They took a 50-27 lead to the half and extended it to 73-44 by the end of the third period. The largest lead of the game was the final score.

UPike protected the basketball, turning it over only nine times while forcing Montreat into 23.

Freshman
Anika Stehbens led all scorers with 25 points while pulling down nine rebounds on the day. She also had an assist, a steal and a blocked shot in the win and sank three of four shots from outside.

Senior
Allie Stone and freshman
Halle Collins had 16 points each. Collins had nine rebounds and three assists, while Stone had two rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Stone, the reigning conference player of the year, was 6 for 9 from the field and 2 of 3 on three-point attempts.

Junior
Rachel Bush tossed in 12 points and added four rebounds.

Montreat (3-5, 1-2) had 10 players score in the game but only one reached double digits. Junior Rymiah Sanders tossed in 16

The Cavs, who missed all seven shots from the arc, shot 40.7 percent from the floor.

UPike shot 51.3 percent from the field and was 10 for 17 (58.8 percent) on three-point shots. The Bears also won the rebounding battle 41-33.

The Bears will be back in action on Tuesday night, returning home to entertain Union Commonwealth University. Tip time will be 5:30 p.m. at the Appalachian Wireless Arena.
