RICHMOND, Ky. – The women's bowling program of the University of Pikeville picked up its third tournament championship in five events over the weekend when it won Union Commonwealth University's Bulldog Bash.

Earlier this season, the Bears finished atop the standings in the Music City Classic and the Bowlero Southern.

UPike's score for the tournament was 5765 to easily outdistance second-place Shawnee State (Ohio) University's 5010. Host Union Commonwealth was third with a score of 4866, eight pins in front of the University of Rio Grande.

Along with the team success, the Bears also had four of the top five individual results, led by senior
Brianna Rogers, whose four-game score was 819, finishing 59 pins in front of the field.

Katarina Hagler finished second with a four-game score of 760.

Allison Taylor was fourth with a score of 714, while senior
Victoria Hines rolled a 697 to finish fifth.

Kaytlen Peck recorded a Top 10 finish, scoring 617 despite bowling only three of the four games.

Three more Bears were in the Top 25 with three games bowled. Freshman
Cierra Gabriel's 498 was good for 22
nd, sophomore
Taylor Sams finished 24
th at 471 while senior
Rayce Yelton was 25
th at 455.

UPike will have some time off before competing again, traveling to Addison, Ill., to play in the Kegel/ISBPA January 17-18.
