BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – For the third time this young season, as University of Pikeville women's bowler has been named player of the week in the Mid-South Conference. For the second time, it's
Brianna Rogers.
Rogers, a senior from Cincinnati, won the honor after winning the singles title in last weekend's Bulldog Bash in Richmond, Ky.
Rogers has been the league's bowler of the year the last two seasons, and was bowler of the week the last week of October after winning both the Greater Nashville Open and Brandon Burns Memorial Classic.
This time, she won thanks to a four-game series that saw her finish at 819, 59 pins ahead of the runner-up, her teammate
Katarina Hagler. The closest non-UPike player was 80 pins behind.
The Bears then won the team title, their third championship of the season. They wrapped it up with a score of 5765, well in front of second-place Shawnee State University at 5010.
Rogers has now been named bowler of the week 10 times in her career.
The Bears will be back in action on January 17-18 when they travel to Addison, Ill., to compete in the Kegel/ISBPA.
