CARTERSVILLE, Ga. – The University of Pikeville women's bowling program had another successful weekend, finishing first and second in the two events in the NAIA Southeast Open.

In Saturday's action, the Bears finished second and then rallied to win Sunday's tournament.

On Saturday, SCAD-Savannah won the 12-team event, finishing at 5,810, while the Bears were at 5,621 for second place.

On Sunday, in Baker-only action with no individual competition, the Bears won with a score of 4,568, while SCAD was second in the 10-team tournament at 4,513.

In Saturday's individual action, sophomore
Haley Grabowski was fourth, scoring 1,171 over six games for an average of 195.17. Freshman
Katarina Hagler was fifth, one pin behind Grabowski for an average of 195.

Graduate student
Kristina Catoe averaged 189.5 to finish 11
th, while graduate student
Kadie Dicken was 13
th, averaging 185.17. Senior
Mikayla Blair finished 17
th with a six-game average of 182.33, with sophomore
Madison Strouse coming in 18
th with an average of 182.17.

A total of 100 individual bowlers competed in Saturday's competition.

UPike will finish the regular season when it travels to Indianapolis to compete in the Hoosier Classic. That tournament is Feb. 15-16.
