AAC announces swim awards

WALESKA, Ga. - Officials of the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) released the honorees for Academic All-Conference and for the Champions of Character Team Wednesday afternoon. 

To qualify for Academic All-Conference, they must be a sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student and must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher on a 4.0 scale. The 2024-25 Academic All-Conference honorees for the UPIKE men's swim team are Iker Goyri, Benjamin Mclaughlin, and Jacob Rubado. Earning Academic All-Conference on the women's team was junior Madelyn Smith

Student-athletes nomiated for the Champions of Character Team are chosen by their coaches for their leadership on campus, their community, and for best demonstrating the five core values embraced by the NAIA which are integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership. Representing UPIKE men's swimming is sophomore Jacob Rubado and representing UPIKE women's swimming is junior Madelyn Smith.
