PIKEVILLE, Ky. – Reinhardt (Ga.) University picked up the doubleheader sweep of the University of Pikeville on Thursday afternoon, winning by scores of 12-0 and 15-7.

UPike (10-11, 4-6 in the AAC) will be back in action on Friday afternoon, playing host to Montreat (N.C.) College. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Paul Butcher Field.

Reinhardt is now 13-7 overall, 10-4 in the league.

Eagles 12, Bears 0: Reinhardt scored in four of its five trips to the plate to win the opener.

The Eagles scored one in the first, two in the second, six in the fourth and three more in the fifth for the win.

Meanwhile, the Bears managed only one hit, a fifth-inning single by left fielder
Maria McClellan.

Sara Bays pitched all five innings for the Bears, falling to 2-1 on the season. Anslee Pettit improved to 9-2 for the Eagles, striking out seven.

Eagles 15, Bears 7: Reinhardt again scored in four of its five trips to the plate as it picked up the sweep.

After the Eagles scored four in the top of the first inning, UPike rallied for three in the bottom half. But the Eagles then plated three in the second and added five more in the third to pull away for the win.
