STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. - One match removed from overcoming a 3-0 series deficit, the University of Pikeville men's bowling overcame a 3-1 deficit to No. 3 Lawrence Tech (Mich.) during round four of the 2025 NAIA Men's Bowling National Championship.
Game 1: Lawrence Tech 246, UPIKE 238
Despite striking eight times, the Bears still fell short in game one. The Blue Devils struck
Game 2: UPIKE 277, Lawrence Tech 241
The Bears bounced back in game two. UPIKE struck ten times outlasted the Blue Devils to tie the series at 1-1.
Game 3: Lawrence Tech 268, UPIKE 264
Lawrence Tech edged out the Bears in the final frame, recording a strike and a nine spare. Bryce Oliver struck twice and then dropped five in the tenth. The Bears came up just short and LTU took a 2-1 series lead.
Game 4: Lawrence Tech 237, UPIKE 227
In game four, it came down to an open second. The Bears fell short despite striking eight times.
Game 5: UPIKE 245, Lawrence Tech 226
With the Bears facing elimination, Andrew Robitaille, Dylan Mishak, Joshua Maslanich, Eli Mayberry, and Oliver all struck in the first five.
The back five went strike by Robitaille, nine spare by Mishak, strike by Maslanich, nine spare by Maslanich, strike by Mayberry, and then nine spare and strike by Oliver to stave off elimination.
Game 6: UPIKE 225, Lawrence Tech 199
The Bears made the Blue Devils pay for leaving the first frame open with strikes from Mishak, Maslanich, and Oliver in the front five.
In frames seven through ten, the Bears struck four times then recorded a nine to force yet another game seven.
Game 7: UPIKE 213, Lawrence Tech 194
Robitaille started game seven with a nine spare, then Mishak and Maslanich struck. Mayberry nine spared and Oliver struck in the fifth.
Robitaille dropped ten in the sixth and Mishak recorded a nine in the seventh. The final three frames of game seven went nine by Maslanich, strike by Mayberry, and three consecutive strikes by Oliver to close out the series.
The Bears won their second consecutive game seven and are now 7-0 when facing elimination. The Bears are still alive and will take on No. 5 Milligan in round five.
