ANDERSON, S.C. - The University of Pikeville bass fishing team competed in the 2025 Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship at Lake Hartwell Thursday and Friday.  

There was a total of 192 boats competing at the tournament, and two boats were from UPIKE. The duo of Carson Holbrook and Silas Jones had the highest UPIKE finish. Holbrook and Jones came in 81st place after recording a 10.23 on day one and a 10.26 on day two for a total of 20.49. The second UPIKE boat had Cameron Gates and Nick Schaefer. Gates and Schaefer recorded a 6.63 on day one and a 4.47 on day two for a total of 11.40 and came in 171st place.  

The bass fishing Bears will be back in action next week at the Bassmasters tournament at Lake Chickamauga in Dayton, Tennessee.
