Box Score The University of Pikeville men's soccer team got the season off to a solid start with a 1-0 win over Georgetown College on Friday night at Bob Amos Park.
 
The Bears won the game on a night they recorded five shots on goal while limiting the Tigers to four.
 
The only goal of the first half came in the 24^th minute. Sophomore Alex Pritchard found classmate Rafael Chevarria, who found the net on a header from the right side.
 
It was a fantastic debut for freshman Spaniard goalkeeper Alejandro Iglesias, who blanked the Tigers in his collegiate opener.
 
The Bears had three shots on goal turned away by Georgetown's Sam Heine before Chevarria scored what proved to be the only goal of the game. All five shots on net came before the half, while Georgetown managed only one in the second half of play.
 
Five different Bears recorded shots on goal in the win. In addition to Chevarria, Pritchard had a shot on goal, as did junior Amogelang Mofokeng, sophomore Oliver Fausel and freshman Sam Reinks.
 
UPike will return to Bob Amos Park on Wednesday when it hosts WVU Tech in a 5 p.m. contest.
