LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – No. 17 Georgia Gwinnett College picked up a 9-1 win over the University of Pikeville on Saturday afternoon in men's soccer play.

Georgia Gwinnett, which opened the season ranked 22
nd in the preseason poll and moved up five spots this week, is now 4-1-2 on the season.

UPike saw a four-game unbeaten streak come to an end and now stands 4-3-1.

The Grizzlies scored the first three goals of the game, including one 22 seconds into the action.

UPike got on the scoreboard in the 44
th minute, getting a goal from sophomore midfielder
Bruno Arenal. He beat the keeper on a penalty kick for his team-leading fifth goal of the season.

After the half, it was all Grizzlies. The home team added six goals in the second half to pull away for the win.

The nine goals scored by Georgia Gwinnett were the most allowed by the Bears this season.

The Bears will be back in action this Wednesday when they return to AAC play. They'll host Union Commonwealth University at Bob Amos Park. The second game of a doubleheader, the action is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
