MADISONVILLE, Ky. - University of Pikeville archery competed at the Mid-South Conference Indoor Championships this weekend.  

In the ranking round, Jack DiNapoli scored 531 and took the top spot in the men's recurve. UPike also took gold in the women's recurve after Olivia Hale shot a 563. Nate Harper added another gold medal for his team, edging out a one-point victory in the men's fixed pins.  

Jack DiNapoli and Olivia Hale, who had already captured gold in the ranking round, teamed up and took gold in the mixed recurve to open the mixed team rounds. In the mixed fixed pins, Nate Harper and Cassie Haldeman took bronze. The mixed team rounds ended with Tate Jobe and Anna Shearier took fourth in the mixed compound.  

UPike collected three silver medals and one bronze medal in the official team rounds. Jack DiNapoli, Rylan Brooks and Kole Whalen were runners-up in the men's recurve. Olivia Hale, Anna Howard, and Kennadi Mayer were runners-up after a 5-3 loss in the women's recurve final. In the men's fixed pins, Nate Harper, Caden Jones, and Sam Garey were edged out 234-232 by Cumberlands. The women's fixed pins team of Cassie Haldeman, Emma Willis, and Dana Wright wrapped up the official team round with a bronze medal.  

In the individual matches, Jack DiNapoli took first in men's recurve, Olivia Hale won gold in the women's recurve, and Nate Harper took gold in the men's fixed pins. The Bears also collected a pair of silver medals, with Anna Shearier took silver in the women's compound and Emma Willis in the women's fixed pins.  

In total, the Bears collected four gold medals, five silver medals, two bronze medals, and two fourth-place medals for 102 team points for a third-place finish. Archery will be back in action Thursday in Lancaster, Pa., at the Lancaster Archery Classic.
