Noah Brooks had five hits and drove in six as the University of Pikeville picked up a sweep of a doubleheader on Tuesday, beating Lindsey Wilson 6-2 in extra innings and 7-4.

UPike is now 5-4 on the season. The sweep was the first of the season for the Bears, who had opened with three splits.

The Bears are now scheduled to resume play in the AAC with a three-game series at Johnnie LeMaster Field this weekend when they host Union Commonwealth University.

Bears 6, Blue Raiders 2, 8 innings: UPike jumped out to a 2-0 lead, before a pair of sixth-inning runs tied the game for Lindsey. But the Bears posted four runs in the top of the eighth and held on for the win.Â

In the eighth, the Bears loaded the bases on walks by
Riley Paulino and Frances Subero and a bunt single by
Noah Brooks. All three scored on a double to center by
Joe Gagnon. Courtesy runner Conner Moody moved to third and then home on wild pitches.Â

Brooks had three hits including a double and drove in two for the Bears. Paulino also doubled, while Dominic DeCarlo, Subero and
Mason Melton all had hits.Â

Paulino started and pitched into the sixth. He gave up two runs on two hits, striking out four and walking four.
Isaac Berry came on in relief and got the win, going two innings, while Richter Castillo closed it down with a 1-2-3 eighth.Â

Bears 7, Blue Raiders 4:Â Subero broke a 4-4 tie with a seventh-inning double and then scored when Brooks hit his first home run of the season as the Bears rallied for the win.Â

Subero's hit delivered DeCarlo, who had reached on an error.Â

Brooks also doubled and drove in four, while Subero also had two hits. Melton drove in two runs in the game without the benefit of a hit.Â

Cole Carmichael came on to pick up his first save with a scoreless ninth.
Caleb Morrison (1-0) got the win, throwing an inning and a third.Â

Reed Sutton pitched the first four innings and struck out six.Â

Paulino and Gagnon also had hits for UPike.Â
