CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Four different Bears drove in multiple runners and five scored more than once as the University of Pikeville picked up a 14-6 win at WVU Tech on Wednesday afternoon.

UPike is now 9-4 on the season and has won six straight games.

The Bears jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first and stretched it to 8-1 by the fifth.

Starting pitcher
Riley Paulino was 3 of 4 with a double, a triple, four runs scored and one driven in. Shortstop
Francis Subero had two hits, including a triple, with three runs batted in and two runs scored.

Catcher
Garren Gledhill had two hits and drove in four, while first baseman
Joe Gagnon and third baseman
Mason Melton each drove in two without a hit. Mason also scored a run.

Left fielder
Noah Brooks had two hits and scored three times. Centerfielder Dominic DeCarlo doubled and scored twice while right fielder
Cole Fowler singled with two runs scored.

Second baseman
Easton Mould added an RBI.

Paulino fanned four over four innings, allowing three hits and a run. He was followed to the mound by six teammates, including
Isaac Berry, who pitched a hitless fifth to pick up the win and improve to 2-0.

The seven hurlers combined to strike out 11 on the day.

The Golden Bears used nine pitchers in falling to 3-8 on the season.

UPike is now off until Tuesday, March 3, when it travels to play Georgetown College. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
