The University of Pikeville picked up two wins on Sunday at Paul Butcher Field, beating Union Commonwealth University 5-2 and 2-1.

Chloe Bryant had saves in both games for the Bears, who improved to 18-8 overall and 8-6 in the AAC. The Bears finished March with a record of 17-5.Â

Union is now 9-23 on the season, 4-10 in the league.

The Bears will return to Paul Butcher Field on Wednesday when they host Tennessee Wesleyan University. Game time is 1 p.m.

Bears 5, Bulldogs 2: UPike scored two runs in the fourth and fifth innings to pull out a win in the opener.

Dani Crum had three hits to lead the UPike offense. Shortstop
Alexis Emery had two hits, a double and a triple, scoring twice and driving in one. Left fielder
Harlee Quick had two doubles and scored twice.

Ashlyn Dixon had a hit and first baseman
Claudia Maness drove in a run.

Chloe Calton (2-3) pitched the first five innings to get the win. She struck out six and gave up only one hit. Bryant came on in relief and earned her second save, striking out two and allowing only one hit.

Bears 2, Bulldogs 1: UPike scored single runs in the second and third innings and made them stand up for the sweep.

Chloy Creech played a role in both runs, scoring in the second on a double by Dunlap and driving in shortstop
Alexis Emery with a single in the third.

Dunlap's double was one of two hits in the game, while Emery had two of her own. Horn added a hit as well.

Brianna Johnsen pitched 6-2/3 innings to pick up the win, improving to 7-2 on the season. She scattered eight hits and struck out three.

Bryant threw one pitch to pick up her third save of the season, her second of the day.
