The University of Pikeville picked up a midweek sweep of a doubleheader on Tuesday, beating longtime rival Georgetown College 4-3 in eight innings and 12-5.

The Bears will return to Johnnie LeMaster Field on Tuesday, April 7, hosting WVU Tech. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.

One out later, Gledhill delivered the game-winner.

All seven UPike hits were singles. Brooks had two, driving in one and scoring one, while center fielder
Riley Paulino had two as well.

Mason Melton added a hit.

Cole Carmichael pitched the final 1-1/3 innings to improve to 2-0. He followed
Reed Sutton,
Jake Maniago and
Brody Mangold to the hill.

Bears 12, Tigers 5: UPike put up four in the bottom of the third, keyed by a three-run blast off the bat of Gledhill, his first bomb of the season.

The Bears added two more in the fifth, when Paulino delivered an RBI triple and then scored on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Brooks. Before the inning ended, the Bears had scored seven times and pushed its lead to 11-3.

Paulino (1-0) got the win on the mound, going the first five innings while recording six strikeouts. He also had two hits, drove in three and scored twice.

Shortstop Frances Subero had a single and a double, driving in two and scoring a run.

Mould had a hit, scored twice and drove in a run, Melton and centerfielder
Domenic DeCarlo both had a hit and scored.
