The University of Pikeville rallied from a three-run deficit to defeat WVU Tech 7-4 on Tuesday afternoon at Johnnie LeMaster Field.

The win for the Bears was their fourth straight as they returned to the diamond for the first time in a week.

The Golden Bears didn't score again until the ninth, and in between the Bears scored seven times across five innings of play.

Those hits came from three Bears who had two hits apiece, led by centerfielder Riley Paulino, who also drove in three runs and scored one. Second baseman Easton Mould, who doubled, and shortstop Frances Subero, who tripled, both had two hits, scored a run and drove one in each.

Third baseman Mason Melton drove in a run, while first baseman Joe Gagnon and right fielder Cole Fowler both recorded RBIs.

West Virginia Tech's big blow came in the first when the second hitter in the game, centerfielder Gabe Templeton, blasted a solo home run to get the Golden Bears on the scoreboard.

Three Bears spent time on the mound, led by winning pitcher Reed Sutton. He improved to 3-0 thanks to six innings of work. He recorded three strikeouts and scattered nine hits.
