NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The University of Pikeville ran its spring break winning streak to four with a pair of wins on Sunday.

The Bears beat the United States Coast Guard Academy 9-3 in the morning and returned in the afternoon to pick up a 9-3 win over Penn State Schuylkill.

UPike is now 7-5 on the season and will enjoy a day off on Monday before returning to the diamond on Tuesday morning. The Bears will play Rochester Christian (Mich.) University at 9 a.m. and take on New Jersey City University at 11 a.m.

Bears 9, Coast Guard 3: The Academy cut the UPike lead to 4-3 in the top half of the fifth inning, but the Bears pushed five across in the bottom half to seal the win.

Dani Crum had three hits and five RBIs in the win. She also scored a run. Center fielder
Addison Johnson had a hit, scored twice and drove in a run.

Claudia Maness and second baseman
Kaden Dunlap had a hit and scored twice each, while Right fielder Mattie Horn, left fielder
Harlee Quick and shortstop
Alexis Emery had one hit each.

Ashlyn Dixon scored a run.

Chloe Calton pitched the first five innings to improve to 2-0. She had six strikeouts.
Rylee Carter threw two scoreless frames to close it out.

Bears 9, Lions 0: Freshman
Shelby Ulrich pitched a complete-game two-hitter to pick up her first collegiate win. She struck out eight and allowed only four base runners in the shutout performance.

Olivia Metcalfe had three hits and drove in three for the Bears, with one of her hits being a triple. Crum added a single and a triple, driving in one and scoring one.

Chloy Creech had two hits, drove in two and scored once.

Kasey Lois tripled, scored a run and drove one in, while Johnson, Horn, Emery and center fielder
Abby Hess each had a hit and scored a run. Dunlap had a hit, a run scored and an RBI, while Dixon added a hit.
