Men's tennis picks up two wins

The University of Pikeville's men's tennis team went 2-1 over the last week.
 
The Bears got an AAC win over Truett-McConnell (Ga.) 7-0 and beat Ashland (Ohio) 5-2. They fell to Lees-McRae 5-2. The University of Pikeville men's tennis team picked up a couple of wins over the last week, while one game was cancelled due to weather.
 
UPike will be back in action on Saturday when it travels to Georgia Gwinnett College. First serve is slated for 3:30 p.m.
 
Bobcats 5, Bears 2: Lees-McRae took two of three to win the doubles point. Ahmed Hassairi and Haithem Rabbouche were the winners at No. 1 6-1 over Isaac Yang and Hudson Hoskins. But Marco Laguna and Tenzin Singye beat Anton Hoffman and Matthew Rodgers 6-1 and Lorenzo Ferrer and Austin Henry picked up a 6-3 win over Alfonzo Robinson and Rafael Gonzales.
 
UPike picked up wins in 5 and 6 singles. Hoffman beat Austin 7-6, 6-2, while Gonzalez knocked off Ferrier 6-3, 6-2.
 
Less McCrae picked up wins when Yang beat Rabbouche 6-1, 6-1; Singye knocked off Hassairi 6-1, 7-5; Languna beat Robinson 6-1, 6-1, and; Hoskins beat Rogers 6-0, 7-5.
 
Bears 7, TMU 0: UPike picked up the first point of the day by taking all three doubles matches and then swept the singles competition.
 
Hassairi and Rabbouche won in No. 1 doubles 6-1 over Matoes/Diaz. Robinson and Gonzalez were winners in No. 2 doubles 7-6, while Rodgers and Hofmann picked up a 6-1 win over Stewart and Hernandez at No. 3.
 
In singles play, Rabbouche beat Vicente 6-3, 6-3, while Robinson was pushed to three sets by Matoes before winning 6-4, 6-7 (2-7), 7-5.
 
Hassairi picked up 6-1, 6-3 win over Diaz, with Hoffman beating Andien 6-3, 6-2. Rodgers was a 6-0, 6-1 winner over Stewart, and Gonzalez knocking off Cook 6-1, 6-3.
 
Bears 5, Eagles 2: UPike opened with the doubles point, taking two of the three matches.
 
Hassairi and Rabbouche beat Tomas Paskaushas and Ryohei Miyake 6-4 and Rogers and Hofmann knocked off Jonathan Frost and Reid Opel 7-5. Ashland's team of Kaj Salzano and Gabe Seminario picked up a 6-4 win over Robinson and Gonzalez.
 
In singles play, UPike's wins came when Rabbouche led Salzano 7-6 (7-4) before he retired,
Hassairi knocked off Frost 4-6, 6-3, 10-5, Rodgers beat Opel 6-2, 6-3, and Gonzalez handled Seminario 6-2, 6-1.
 
Ashland picked up points when Paskaushas beat Robinson 6-0, 4-6, 6-10 and Miyake knocked off Hofmann 6-2, 7-5.
