The University of Pikeville won the weekend series from Bryan College, splitting a Saturday afternoon doubleheader.

UPike won the wild opener 15-11 before the Lions took the finale 12-7.

Designated hitter
Garren Gledhill had four hits, including two doubles, and drove in seven on the day. Second baseman
Samuel Brown finished the day with four hits, including a double, and scored twice.

UPike is now 22-14 on the season, 11-10 in the AAC. The Bears will be back at Johnnie LeMaster Field on Tuesday, hosting Alice Lloyd College at noon for a doubleheader.

Bryan is now 21-21 overall, 14-10 in the league.

Bears 15, Lions 11: UPike used a seven-run third inning to take control and then added four scores in the sixth to hold off the determined Lions.

UPike scored its runs on only 12 hits, taking advantage of six walks and four Bryan errors.

Second baseman Sam Brown had three hits and scored twice. Three teammates had two hits each in the win. Gledhill had two hits, including a double, and drove in four in the game. Third baseman
Mason Melton had two hits, drove in three and scored twice, while centerfielder
Riley Paulino had two hits and scored three runs.

Reed Sutton had a pinch-hit three-run double, catcher
Tyler Brook had a double and drove in three, while first baseman
Joe Gagnon doubled, scored and drove one in.

Easton Mould scored twice and drove in a run, left fielder Dominic DeCarlo scored twice, right fielder
Cole Fowler scored one and
Matthew Crum, the courtesy runner for Brook, scored two times.

Lions 12, Bears 7: Bryan scored multiple runs four times in the seven-inning game to pull out its only win of the weekend.

The Lions led 10-0 before the Bears scored six in the bottom of the fifth inning. UPike used seven pitchers in the game.

Gledhill had another terrific game, recording a single and a double while driving in three.

Brown had a double, while Mould, Fowler, Gagnon and catcher
Hayden Hollingsworth all had hits.

Mould and Gagnon each had an RBI and scored a run. Fowler scored and Hollingsworth drove one in. Paulino had an RBI and scored twice, while Crum scored as a pinch runner.
