WALESKA, Ga. – The University of Pikeville softball team had one first-team pick and two second-team selections, the AAC announced on Monday.

Dani Crum was named the first-team catcher, while second baseman
Kaden Dunlap and outfielder
Chloy Creech are second-team all-conference picks.

Crum, a sophomore from Louisa, hit .371 this season. She led the team with 36 runs scored, 53 hits, 10 doubles, four triples, two home runs and 33 RBIs. Crum was in the top 10 in the league in hits and runs and was top 5 in triples.

She had an on-base percentage of .500 to also pace qualified batters while slugging .563 and was 17 for 17 in stolen bases, a number that also paced the club.

Dunlap is a junior from Louisville who batted .340 this season with an on-base percentage of .410. Of her 36 hits, eight were doubles, four triples and she added a home run. She scored 28 runs and drove in 25.

Creech is a freshman from Campton who led the team with a batting average of .465. She had 33 hits, four of them doubles in addition to a home run. She scored 16 runs and drove in 14 while compiling a .500 on-base percentage and a slugging percentage of .563.

Madison Horn was UPike's representative on the Champions of Character team. Those honored on the Champions of Character Team were nominated by their coaches based on their leadership on and off campus, as well as their demonstration of the five core character values of the NAIA.

In addition, the Bears placed 14 players on the All-Academic Team. In order to qualify, a student-athlete must be sophomore or higher, have a minimum of of 3.25 grade-point average and have completed at least one semester at their institution.

The Bears will continue play in the AAC tournament on Tuesday morning, facing Columbia (S.C.) College in a game scheduled for an 11 a.m. first pitch.Â
