KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The NAIA has released its list of Scholar-Athletes for the spring sports.

The list includes those student-athletes playing baseball, golf, softball, tennis, track and field, women's beach volleyball and men's volleyball. Nationally, 5,502 student-athletes were honored.

The University of Pikeville had a total of 53 on the spring list. Of those, nine were softball players.

To qualify as an NAIA Scholar-Athlete, students must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, appear on the eligibility certificate for their sport, and have attended their institution for at least one full year. This year, the list features an impressive number of student-athletes who have met these rigorous standards.

The nine members of the UPike softball team include
Chloe Bryant,
Chloe Calton,
Kaden Dunlap,
Cassie Finley,
Addison Johnson, Alissa Miles, Ashlyn Patrick, Jorden Pollard and Harley Quick.

The UPike softball team completed its season with a 29-15 record. The team set a new school record for wins in a season and went 2-2 in last week's conference tournament, recording a fifth-place finish.
