PIKEVILLE, Ky. – After a nearly two-week holiday break, the University of Pikeville women's basketball team is back in action at 6 p.m. ET on Monday, hosting Virginia Intermont at the UPIKE Gym.

Both teams come in to the game sporting 5-7 overall records. The Bears lost a thriller the last time out to Union (Ky.) 89-88, while the Cobras have lost two straight, falling to King (Tenn.) 69-60 at home and at Catawba (Va.) 81-61.
UPIKE continues to be led by its nationally 16th-ranked scorer
Callisha Johnson at 18.9 points per game, while
Cheyenne Madden, a starter in just four of the 12 games, is the second leading scorer at 11.6 points per contest.
Madden is the leading rebounder as well at 7.1 boards per game. As a team, UPIKE is shooting 42.9 percent from the field and 32.3 percent from behind the arc.
Virginia Intermont is the sixth best 3-point shooting team in NAIA Div. II at 36.2 percent, while its 45.1 percent clip from the field ranks ninth in the division. Rainey Story leads the Cobra's offense at 19.1 points per game and Kayla Orrick joins her in double figures at 11.5.
Orrick also leads Virginia Intermont on the glass with 5.9 rebounds per contest, while Courtney McKenzie pulls down 5.3 rebounds off the bench.
UPIKE has won eight of the last 10 games in the series, but split two games last season, winning at home 83-55 after losing on the road 77-64.
