Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn. – After allowing Fisk to score in the sixth minute, the University of Pikeville men's soccer team didn't respond until the second half, but it was in a big way, scoring four goals in less than 20 minutes to top the Bulldogs 4-2 on Tuesday.
Fisk added a garbage-time goal in the 85th minute, but the damage had already been done as Mateus Meira tied it in the 55th off a pass from Pedro Santos, followed by a go-ahead goal in the 63rd minute from Santos off a cross by Meira, while Eddie Zavala netted what would go down as the game-winner in the 72nd off another Meira assist.
Chase Johnson added an insurance goal unassisted with just over 15 minutes to play, helping UPIKE hold off Fisk as it got loose for its late score.
With the win, the Bears improve to 2-4 overall and are back in action at 4 p.m. ET on Thursday at Ohio Christian in Circleville, Ohio.
Full stats from Fisk were not immediately available following the game. Details, including a box score for UPIKE will be added soon.
