CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. -- The University of Pikeville women's tennis team lost at Campbellsville 7-2 on Monday afternoon at the Kelly Hall Tennis Complex.
Macarena Acuna played a role in both UPIKE wins, topping Anna Tumanyan at No. 1 singles 6-4, 6-2 after teaming with Thais Bezerra at the top doubles spot for a 9-7 win over Lindy and Megan Charity.
The rest of the match, including three forfeit wins in singles and two in doubles, went Campbellsville's way.
The remaining singles matches were won in straight sets with No. 2 Jenna Sallee topping Marine Kenel 6-0, 6-0 and No. 3 Lindy Charity getting past Bezerra 6-1, 6-2.
Campbellsville has won six straight matches dating back to March 22, while the Bears are 0-4 overall and 0-4 in league play after the loss. Next up for UPIKE is a trip to Cumberland at 1 p.m. ET on Saturday in Lebanon, Tenn.
