Box Score ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- Macarena Acuna delivered her third goal of the season in the 85th minute to lift the University of Pikeville women's soccer team over Warren Wilson 1-0 on Saturday.
The goal with five minutes to spare in regulation pushed the Bears to 5-6 overall, while the Owls dropped to 2-6.
It's the third time this season that UPIKE has been limited to just one goal in a game, but it's also the first time that it has resulted in a win. Credit Bryanna Schroers for making it happen as her cross went down as the game-winning assist to Acuna.
The Bears outshot the Owls 13-3, including an 8-1 advantage in shots on goal. None of the UPIKE players took more than two shots, but Katie Dotson put the most on target with two.
Chelsie Randoplh tallied the shutout in goal, collecting just one save, while Warren Wilson's Caroline Zonis scooped up seven saves before allowing the late goal.
