PIKEVILLE, Ky. -- Macarena Acuna was the lone University of Pikeville women's tennis player to claim a win on Sunday as the Bears lost 8-1 to visiting (RV) Campbellsville at the Bob Amos Complex.
Acuna held strong at the top singles seed, topping Bolor Ankhbayar 3-6, 6-2, 10-8, but the Tigers swept the rest of the match.
Campbellsville's strongest challenge came at the top doubles seed where its Enkhbayar and Grace-Laura Rowe held on to beat Acuna and Thais Bezerra 9-7.
UPIKE took losses before starting the match at the sixth singles seed and third doubles with five players available in the lineup.
Newcomer Cailee Marcum battled at the No. 4 seed for UPIKE before losing 6-2, 6-2 to Jade Letheby.
