PIKEVILLE, Ky. – Second-ranked Lindsey Wilson lived up to its billing, topping the University of Pikeville women's tennis team 9-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Bob Amos Tennis Complex.
Macarena Acuna challenged top-seeded Alex Shchipakina in a 6-2, 6-1 loss, but none of UPIKE's other singles seeds could win a game.
Acuna teamed with Cailee Marcum at the No. 1 doubles spot to tally the Bears' other points of the day in an 8-1 loss to Fiona Curty and Maria Prados.
Curty's 6-0, 6-0 win over Bryanna Schroers at the No. 3 seed sealed the win for the Blue Raiders with the fifth point of the match.
UPIKE is back in action at 3 p.m. ET on Thursday against Bluefield at the Bob Amos Complex.
