Women’s Tennis Falls to No. 16 Campbellsville 9-0

ASHLAND, Ky. –
The 16th-ranked Campbellsville women's tennis team proved too strong for the University of Pikeville on Sunday, completing a 9-0 shutout in the Mid-South Conference opener for the Bears.

UPIKE played two points down from the start with forfeits at No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles. With the loss, it falls ot 2-2 on the season, while the Tigers improve to a perfect 8-0 overall and 2-0 in the MSC.

Samantha Fraser and Aundrea Hurtado won four games in the top singles spot before falling to the No. 16-ranked duo of Kaede Amano and Majella Nobile. Hurtado went on to be the only Bear to win at least two games in singles as she lost to Bolor Enkhbayar 6-0, 6-2 at the second seed.

Campbellsville's Amani is its top seed and the 25th-ranked singles player in the nation. She got by Fraser 6-0, 6-0.

UP NEXT

UPIKE travels to Norfolk, Va., at 3 p.m. ET on Tuesday to face Virginia Wesleyan.
