BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- After the second round of the Mid-South Conference Championship, UPIKE women's golf dropped a spot on the team leaderboard to second place.
UPIKE now sits four strokes back as a team from first-place Cumberlands (Ky.) and is seven strokes ahead of Cumberland (Tenn.) with tomorrow's final round to go,
Despite falling to second place as a team, Pikeville occupies two of the top three positions on the individual leaderboard. Boo Newsome now has company at the top of the leaderboard, tied for first place with Raquel Romero Valverde of Cumberland (Tenn.). Newsome shot a 6-over-78 on Tuesday and is now 8-over overall.
Sitting just one stroke back is Ellen Kehoe, who shot 5-over on Tuesday to sit in third place heading into Wednesday. Grace Morris is part of a seven-way tie for ninth place at 19-over after shooting 12-over today.
Alexis Stambaugh is in a tie for 19th at 22-over overall. Adriane Mason rounds out the UPIKE field in 28th at 34-over.
UPIKE will finish its quest for a MSC title on Wednesday. The Bears will begin teeing off at 9:54 a.m. ET at Bowling Green Country Club.
