UPIKE Represented at Ribbon Cutting for Newly Renovated Tennis Complex

Pikeville, KY – UPIKE tennis is gearing up for the 2022 spring campaign, one which will be played at the newly renovated Bob Amos Park Tennis Complex.

Paid for by the City of Pikeville, the courts were revealed during a ribbon cutting ceremony last Friday. Complete with brand-new fencing, the project is part of a initiative by city officials to encourage citizens to get out, exercise, and remain active for years to come. The $370,000 project included a resurfacing of six tennis courts which are free to the public and utilized by four local high schools and UPIKE for home matches.

University of Pikeville President Dr. Burton Webb was in attendance alongside Provost Dr. Lori Werth and UPIKE women's tennis coach Cailee Marcum. The Bears women's tennis squad also attended the ribbon cutting and had the honors of being the first to play on the courts.

UPIKE men's and women's tennis will begin in early spring, with schedule details and information to come in the weeks ahead.
