Great Weekend Earns Thomas First Athlete Of The Week Honor

Bowling Green, KY – The Mid-South Conference announced their indoor men's track and field athletes of the week Monday afternoon, and UPIKE's Noah Thomas was honored as the Field Athlete of the Week. This is the first MSC athlete of the week honor in his UPIKE career.

Thomas has had a great start to his 2021-22 campaign over these past two weekends at the Marietta First Glimpse and Horace Turner Open. Thomas finished fourth in both the shot put (13.50m) and weight throw events (14.53m) in Marietta, Ohio, setting the school record in both events. This weekend in Crawfordsville, Indiana, he won both events with a mark of 13.40m in the shot put and 14.93m in the weight throw, breaking the program record in the weight throw that he just set last weekend.

The sophomore has already had a decorated career for the Bears, after qualifying for the NAIA National Championships this spring in the discus throw and will look to continue to rewrite the record books. Thomas and the Bears return to action after the holidays when they travel back to Marietta, Ohio for the Pioneer Open on January 7th.
