Berea, KY - The University of PIkeville men's and women's cross country teams were in action on Saturday afternoon at the Mike and Mary Kay Johnson Invitational hosted by Berea College. Seven Bears competed during the races, with two on the women's side and five on the men's side.
For the women,
Hannah Frye and
Amber Moore competed in the 5k race, coming through the line in 33:46.7 and 34:02.7 respectively. There was no team score on the women's side.
For the men, they finished in third place out of four teams running an 8k race. The best times for UPIKE came from seniors
Benjamin Hall, who finished 18th in the race with a time of 31:26.7 and
Jaxon Blaine, who didn't finish far behind in 22nd at 32:55.8. Other runners included
Cade Watson (35:56.9),
Christian Whitt (45:26.5), and
Syrus Ramsey (47:00.6).
What's Up Next
After their season opener, UPIKE will hit the ground running next Saturday in Rio Grande, Ohio when they race at the Patty Forgey Invitational where the women are scheduled to start at 12:30 p.m. and the men at 1:05 p.m.
