Indianapolis, IN – Following last week's runner-up performance at the Mid-South Conference Championships, women's bowling was back in action at the Tier-1 Columbia 300 Hoosier Classic this weekend. The Bears finished fifth of 65 teams and had a top 10 finisher in
Stephanie Crider.
The Bears finished with a total pin fall of 8521, just 44 shy of fourth place finisher SCAD-Savannah. In match play the Bears averaged 946.778 pins per game. Wichita State took the top spot with 8766 pins. UPIKE was the top finishing MSC team in the competition, followed by Cumberlands who finished 14
th.
Crider put together a stellar performance where she landed eighth of 444 total bowlers. The junior totaled 1233 pins through six games to average 205.5.
Erika Sisk finished inside the top 20 at 19
th overall, knocking down 1207 pins.
As the USBC ITC Sectionals approach in March, the Bears currently sit at fourth overall in the nationwide rankings (
found here). The ITC Sectionals selection show will be held later this week with the Sectional competitions set for March 12-13
th.
Following the MSC Championships, the Bears' runner up finish gives them an automatic bid to the NAIA National Championship held March 24-26 at Five Star Lanes in Sterling Heights, Michigan.
